Starkvegas may finally live up to its nickname. Pete Thamel (Yahoo Sports) has officially released the news that Mike Leach will be leaving Washington State University to take the heading coaching job at Mississippi State University.
Leach has been the head coach at Washington State since 2012 and has led the program to a 55-47 record over the 8 years. Leach previously was the head coach at Texas Tech University (2000-2009) and led Texas Tech to heights the program did not reach before Leach.
Leach will bring his potent Air Raid offense to the SEC, which has recently undergone a passing game revolution. Starting with Tua Tagovailoa and now with Joe Burrow throwing for over 5,000 yards; the SEC is home to some of the strongest offenses in the country.
Details have been released that Mike Leach has accepted a 4 year deal with Mississippi State. Leach will be paid $5 million annually. Mississippi State has reportedly promised Leach a substantial amount of money to offer assistants.
Mike Leach has officially released a statement regarding his departure from Pullman.
