The Campbell 2023 recruiting class started the day with zero commitments, but now hold commitments from multiple 3-star prospects in the Class of 2023. The latest addition is 3-star wide receiver Ernest Thomas who announced his commitment to Campbell on social media.

Thomas is a consensus 3-star prospect out of Forney, TX in the Class of 2023. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound wide receiver ranks as a Top-750 prospect and a Top-100 wide receiver in the country. He has officially transferred to North Forney High School after playing the 2021 season at Rowlett High School. Over the past two seasons Thomas has totaled over 500 yards receiving and 5 receiving touchdowns. He has been one of the hottest prospects on the summer camp circuit and was identified as a top performer at the Pylon 7-on-7 Tournament in Dallas by 247Sports. Thomas also earned recognition at the Under Armour Dallas Camp as one of the top wide receivers at the event

Thomas announced his commitment to Campbell over offers from multiple Power-5 programs including Arkansas, Missouri, & Kansas. Thomas does an excellent job of using his size in 1-on-1 situations and catches the ball with ease while also having a great ability to change directions. He should fit into the Campbell offensive scheme well and will be able to compete for playing time immediately for the Camels.

With the commitment of Thomas; Campbell now holds three commitments in the Class of 2023 including 3-stars Makhi Connor and Elijah Rodgers. The Camels have the #1 recruiting class in the FCS, which also ranks 90th overall in the entire country. The Camels have now landed 14 prospects that were rated 3-stars or above the past two recruiting cycles, including 4-star defensive back Myles Rowser. Head coach Mike Minter has done an excellent job on the recruiting trail and now has Campbell primed to make its first run to a conference title in school history.
